Manitoba Home Economists Launch New Blog!

The Manitoba Association of Home Economists (MAHE) is reaching out to families everywhere. Their new blog, Homefamily.net is a consumer focused blog written by Professional Home Economists to provide tips, techniques and information to consumers to help improve their quality of life.

“Now more than ever, we need to support and strengthen our families.” said Debora Durnin-Richards, MAHE President. “This site helps families and individuals by providing credible, practical information for their home and family.”

Thanks to the Canadian Home Economics Foundation, MAHE received a grant through the Emmie Oddie Fund to support the development of the interactive site.

Originally established as a website by the Association of Saskatchewan Home Economists, 20 000 viewers per month looked to the site for reliable information on nutrition, money matters, clothing and textiles, and consumer information.

With such a demand and an increasing need to provide current, relevant information, the Saskatchewan home economists looked to their prairie neighbours to assume the role of project lead.

Homefamily.net is managed by MAHE with submissions and resources from Professional Home Economists throughout Canada.
